25th March 2023 marks the 2nd anniversary of the first ever plot lettings!
The allotment site has developed much further in the past year. New structures have gone up. Trees are becoming more established and the land is generally flourishing!
The community plot has been taken on by a local group and is looking fantastic! A lot of hard work and effort has gone into this space. Well done everyone. Keep up the good work! The friendships at the allotment site continue to grow alongside the plant produce. It is a lovely thing to witness!
4 new plots have been added to the corner of the site to shorten the waiting list and to allow more people the benefit of being able to grow their own produce and tend the land. Welcome to the new plot holders.
The new car park has been a success and will make a huge difference to accessibility of the site. Another huge bonus for the plotholders at the far end of the field (myself included!) is the addition of the 2 new water access points. This will make things so much easier when the hot weather appears and water butts dry up. People are still encouraged to collect water too though and please don't waste it unnecessarily as besides being a precious commodity, the water in the access points comes from the farm mains water supply and is on a water meter!
Remember when tending your plot to enjoy the process and the 'doing' of it, not just trying to make it all 'done' straight away. Don't forget to appreciate working with the land and being a part of it.
